{"id":4295,"date":"2023-09-29T09:20:21","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T09:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travel.ribo.it\/?p=4295"},"modified":"2025-04-30T15:08:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T15:08:49","slug":"london-markets-as-centers-of-urban-regeneration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travel.ribo.it\/en\/blog-en\/london-markets-as-centers-of-urban-regeneration\/","title":{"rendered":"London street-markets: hubs of urban regeneration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the latest <strong>economy plan <\/strong>for <strong>tourism promotion and development<\/strong>, London stands out from the crowd at international level, after Covid_19 lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The greater consideration for technology in favour of <strong>tourism trends<\/strong>, aims to promote unique products which carefully reflect visitor&#8217;s interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By 2025, it is expected an increase of tourism numbers in terms of arrivals which may reach 40.5 million in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the <strong>London <\/strong>recovery plan included <strong>urban regeneration<\/strong>: one is for example the presence of street-markets in busy metropolitan areas, encouraging<strong> tourism promotion <\/strong>as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2000, <strong>London street-markets <\/strong>have become more and more popular in the <strong>U.K<\/strong> and abroad too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highest percentage of interest grew from 17% for the Borough Market (central London) and from 15% for the alternative Camden Market (north London), to 63% and 44% respectively, in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why did they become so popular? Here are some reasons: easy accessibility to work, low cost and variety of products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>London street-markets stand out from the rest in a significant and authentic way, representing their uniqueness in local metropolitan areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, while the <strong>Borough Market <\/strong>is the ideal gastronomy tourism destination for Asian tourists, the <strong>Camden Market <\/strong>offers a wide range of ethnic food, but also typical clothing and antiques that Scandinavian and Northern European visitors like the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the latest economy plan for tourism promotion and development, London stands out from the crowd at international level, after Covid_19 lockdown.
