With Valentine’s Day, the beginning of a positive influence on tourism in 2022

The tourism industry has been adapting every year since 2019 to the continued presence and possible ‘Coronavirus’ variants that impact economic trends around the world.
Even now, in 2022, the attempt to recover the sector involves various promotion and offering initiatives on the market such as, for example, travel packages with proposals for a few days towards significant destinations such as European capital cities, places of culture and art.
The recently passed Valentine’s Day holiday has favored the sale and promotion of gifts for lovers involving the hospitality and leisure sector such as weekends in hotels and resorts of different budgets, all-inclusive formulas and romantic dinners, but not only!
Among the target audience, we also find family reunion and the desire to escape among solo travellers, be they single or people who want to undertake a group or individual trip.
The main motivation lies in the need for leisure and distraction, after periods of ‘lock-down’ and closure of various entertainment activities, even abroad.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) the tourism industry currently manages and makes sector changes every day, to recover the HTTL economy.
For this year, a 130% increase in bookings is expected compared to the previous year.
This result is achieved thanks to the reevaluation of travel proposals, especially now aimed at the spring season and the Easter holidays.
However, great effort, determination and organization is also needed on the part of airlines, tour operators and all those who work in the HTTL sector to encourage the positive trend of economic recovery of tourism.
