Trento returns ‘City of Christmas’

Attention to the topic of sustainability and energy saving, unfortunately still concomitant with the presence of the war between Ukraine and Russia, is also becoming predominant in Italy.

The occasion of the 2022 Christmas holidays is the basis of urban regeneration and landscape design, to promote local territories and cities.

Trento returns as the ‘city of Christmas’, with 75 wooden houses offering wooden articles, blown glass, natural and botanical cosmetic products based on edelweiss or varieties of honey, typical Tyrolean clothing, local food and wine, etc…

This Christmas market also supports sustainability: the energy of the stands is 100% renewable and local producers use materials with low environmental impact and recyclable.

In Trento there are many other eco-sustainable initiatives, such as: use of LED bulbs, technical activities aimed at saving 20% energy compared to past years and use of photomapping.

The latter will replace traditional lighting, projecting bright decorations on the facades of the buildings, the Cathedral and the Square, thus enhancing the architectural details in a unique Christmas atmosphere.

There are several Christmas markets in Trentino Alto Adige! It’s worth stopping to appreciate its particularities!

In Levico Terme for example, the Habsburg Park of distinctive naturalistic beauty due to the variety of botanical species present, hosts 41 wooden houses as well as themed activities and events for everyone!

Here it is also possible to see the woodworking or glass blowing done live, in an even more traditional Christmas atmosphere!

In the town centre, proclaimed one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, human-sized wooden statues populate the nativity scene.

Among the views of the streets, however, you can see typical Christmas villages and nativity scenes immersed in the same nature as Levico and its homes, becoming part of it.
