Tradition and culture made in Italy!

All-Italian tradition and culture for the month of October, in the name of festivals and events that offer the best of the local gastronomic tradition!
This means not only slow tourism, but also slow cuisine, which represents the diversity and identity of the local population, through unique, typical and varied recipes, thanks to the use of natural and zero kilometer ingredients.
The protection of native biodiversity and its micro-economy is currently a widely discussed topic in favor of the future preservation and sustainability of territories.
For example, the chestnut, in the past a cheap and basic food in the mountain diet, as well as easier to find, is now becoming almost a ‘luxury food’.
Why not protect this precious fruit by promoting the territories dedicated to the traditional cultivation of these plantations while also encouraging domestic or inbound tourism, such as Piedmont and Tuscany in particular?
Careful and more difficult maintenance of chestnut groves and older wild plantations allowed their regrowth after attacks by Asian insects which had halved their quantity.
Participation in traditional festivals are perfect and not too demanding opportunities for residents and visitors in order to support and deepen their knowledge of the local area and its products in a direct, relaxing and more economical way.
Here are two examples: the ‘Chestnut Festival’, a recognized PGI product from Monticello Amiata in Tuscany or the ‘Marron Fair’ in Cuneo, even popular abroad.
This event, through an urban regeneration project, also aims to promote the city, promoting access to the historic center for residents and tourists.
There are many other typical products highlighted which highlight the beauty of the place and the taste of the palate! Here are two others: the ‘Alba white truffle festival’, and the ‘Pumpkin festival’ in the provinces of Turin and Cuneo, in theme with the upcoming and popular Halloween festival.
