The relevance of Halloween on the tourism industry

How much does the Halloween celebration positively affect the tourism industry? From recent 2020 statistics, this tradition ranks first out of ten in the ranking with 82% compared to 18% in the HTTL sector.

It is confirmed that, in the presence of the Covid_19 virus, Americans will favor home parties, including virtual ones, and will limit travel due to regulatory restrictions.

The online alternative and the use of applications and social media networking has replaced, for this year, in-person participation on the streets and at outdoor festivals, which have been canceled and postponed for next year 2021.

The state of California confirms itself as the most flexible and open to hospitality and entertainment, proving itself to be pro-tourism. At the same level, also the metropolis of New York and the central states such as Colorado and Utah, with the presence of large National Parks and lower population density.

Scandinavia is ranked in second and third position with Norway and Sweden respectively, presenting approximately 70% of Halloween relevance out of 30% of the tourism sector. Followed, in order, by Denmark, Ireland, Canada and Finland with a decreasing ratio of 65% to 35%.

England has lost the original and traditional importance of Halloween, falling to eighth place with 57% on 43%. The tourism industry in the UK is most confirmed in relation to various events and celebrations taking place throughout the year.

Out of curiosity, Italy finds itself nineteenth in the international ranking, with 34% out of 66%. The tourism sector of the Bel Paese mainly involves cities of art and reception at museums, while presence at events is less important, especially if of an international nature.
