Join the Edinburgh festival too!

An event that many tourists from different parts of the world do not want to miss out on is the long-awaited Edinburgh Cultural Festival, which takes place every year in the months of July and August.

What does this famous Scottish and international festival consist of? In a set of several ‘festival events’. We move from the ‘International Festival’ of film, to the characteristic ‘Fringe Festival’ of theater and the ‘Jazz Festival’ of music.

The ‘Book Festival’ and the ‘Military Art Tattoo’ mark everything as typically English and above all Scottish.

Furthermore, let’s not forget the streets invaded by local artists, art exhibitions and a vast array of entertainment for adults and children.

It is certainly an event within everyone’s reach, for the most curious and for those who want to have fun. A ‘special and unique’ occasion for 90% of visitors, as the web reviews claim, which left ‘a positive impression’ for all the events that took place.

The remaining 10% of tourists complain of ‘excessive crowds of people’, ‘overcrowding of streets’, ‘fast sell-out of accommodation facilities’, it is even almost a year early for room reservations!

More relevant, according to dissatisfied visitors, would seem to be the ‘impersonalisation’ of artistic exhibitions and events reduced to ‘commercialisation’ and aimed at ‘mass tourism’.

The over-distribution of flyers for any event is very common. Furthermore, excessive promotion of local activities with over-occupation of minimal spaces, mainly roads, making normal participation in the Festival difficult.

It is therefore necessary to evaluate each individual activity, valorising it for its local and international uniqueness, rather than aiming for a multiple quantity of events proposed, risking instead generalizing one quality and distinctive product among all.

In order to obtain a clear opinion of this Festival, you need to be able to visit it in person, be carried away by the indistinct mass of visitors or participate in the organized events… seeing is believing!
