Creative projects for a more eco-sustainable world

However, the presence of the Covid_19 virus, whose vaccine is still in the testing phase, has not blocked initiatives to encourage sustainability, an increasingly prevalent topic in various industrial sectors, such as technology, mechanics and logistics distribution.

Therefore, not only ecology, tourism and territorial and urban planning, sustainability has become an undisputed international theme on all levels and shared in a participatory and demonstrative way.

Research is moving to achieve ‘green’ purposes to achieve a ‘more livable world’. In Italy, the ‘Kilometro Rosso’ projects in Lombardy are an example of this.

Not only that, recent statistical results have confirmed Trento as the greenest city in Italy, and among the top ten ranked, we find Bergamo, Bolzano, Ferrara and Pordenone, all northern and medium-sized cities.

The south of Italy, which occupies the last positions in the ranking of eco-sustainable cities, is acting however to promote more initiatives with low environmental impact in order to climb the ranking towards improvement, just think of Lecce and Bari, the only two cities present in the top 50.

The months of September and October have become opportunities to promote the ‘Sustainability Festivals’ in many territories in collaboration with various associations, universities and bodies, including the State Railways which have joined the program.

In Bergamo, for example, maximum attention was paid, due to the significant impact of the Coronavirus on the local population.

The ‘LandscapeFestival’ saw the Upper Town and its ‘Green Square’ as its protagonist, Piazza Vecchia transformed into a wooded landscape with various ornamental plants for sale.

Thus making visitors and occasional passers-by participate in the initiative to raise funds for the city’s hospital for the creation of a garden, in a sustainable way, therefore, supporting the structure itself.

This is one of the various projects, some in the experimental phase, which propose innovative and creative initiatives and solutions, which, thanks also to the economic support, there is no denying it, fundamental for implementation, want to lead to concrete, tangible results.
