…Culture never stops for Bergamo 2024!

‘Bergamo Italian Capital of Culture 2023′ recently ended on the 19th of December, together with the ‘Donizetti Theatre Season’, the undisputed protagonist of cultural and music entertainment.

On this occasion, Bergamo has been defined as a ‘culturally rich city, being able to express itself through numerous and different artistic events’.

According to recent statistics, Bergamo tourism increased at 60% of visitor interest during spring and summer (against 55% of previous 5 years) with tourists coming from Lombardy, respectively followed by Valle d’Aosta, Sicily, Trentino Alto-Adige and Lazio regions.

2023 Bergamo’s tourism promotion increased thanks to: digital news and local newspapers, easy accessibility to the city and good weather conditions.

Besides, here are further main factors which contributed to these positive results: Brescia city collaboration, the inauguration ceremony and above all, the variety of cultural events and programs.  

At international level, 82% of tourists were interested in Bergamo more than other italian cities. Among these visiting countries we find Asia as the protagonist with Taiwan, followed by Japan and Hong Kong.

Not to forget China, in terms of numbers among the top ten international States and Vietnam. Very good tourism results to be taken into consideration for the next year too!
