London, a city of the future

How to present London, if not a ‘Future City’ or ‘City of the Future’, thanks to the high definition technological and engineering transport project represented by the brand new ‘Elizabeth Line’, combined with the more creative ‘Crossrail Art Program’ in favor of the metropolis itself.
The art and design aspects, applied together, promote the spaces of the stations in a futuristic perspective, thanks to increasingly efficient and artistic lighting, expanding the visual capacity and perception of the surrounding environment; moving around the metropolis will be easier this way.
Even in places that would seem less hospitable to tourists and citizens themselves, the concept of ‘landscape design’ or ‘environmental design’ merges with that of design itself, made, for example, of materials, such as glass arches for Paddington station, or local digital and artistic works, such as the collages of Whitechapel, East London.
The waste material from the excavation works will be reused for the improvement of the stations themselves while respecting the surrounding environment, adapting to it and thus obtaining, as a result, a unique and distinctive local appearance.
The positive feedback that will be obtained in favor of the British economy, the environment and people will be based on the considerable reduction in costs in a sustainable perspective, reducing energy waste, guaranteeing people’s safety and orienting itself towards passenger service as main purpose.
In fact, for 2019 a 10% increase in station capacity is calculated, with + 1.5 million people. Along with the new transport facilities, new properties will also be created in the metropolis, estimated to be worth +500 million pounds.
Even the surrounding public structures, such as museums, parks and other creative and business spaces will be used, together with the presence of the different stations, to promote the identity and cultural diversity of the area to the tourist or citizen, the accessibility of the place, the its security and image, preserving it over time.
Presenting London as a futuristic city in this way will certainly not bore the tourists who cannot help but visit it, the citizens who will move more and more frequently and not even the businesses which will not be static, but much more dynamic, and in a positive sense, always growing!
