The interconnection of landscapes in Iceland, a green travel choice

Maybe you haven’t yet considered, for this summer, an ‘alternative’ destination compared to your origins, green and perhaps even with a more refreshing climate?

Then Iceland is for you! Distinguishing itself with unique territories located in seven regions, it presents different geo-morphological characteristics.

Technological and cutting-edge, Iceland was also one of the first nations to experiment and use the pro-tourism Digital Pass Certificate.

The low population density of this island and its relative size is a guarantee of anti-Covid_19 safety for travellers, being able to move more freely or even undertake a coastal tour of the entire island in just over a week!

Around the capital Reykjavik, natural geothermal pools represent a true Icelandic tradition.

The ‘Blue Lagoon’, located in a lava area, also offers a beach and here people meet, as if they were in a spa! In fact, outdoor spas can reach 40° in some places!

On this island, the variety of territories is interconnected and complementary to each other, so, for example, in the west, the volcanic region is interspersed with lake areas, glaciers and fjords on the coast.

To the  south, the Geysers and waterfalls have been the most popular tourist attractions of this area for centuries, also historically and culturally relevant.

The Thingvellir National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the natural and geological uniqueness of its territories, such as the Almannagjà Canyon.

Another example, the Snaefellsjòkull National Park, to the west, is the only example of a park that leads directly from the beach to the mountain peaks.

The volcano in this area, 1446 m. high, it is said to be one of the seven largest energy centers on the earth, which, in fact, the writer Jules Vernes was inspired by, in ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’!

So, if you are a bit of an adventurer and love nature, then Iceland is just the right destination for you!
