Lake Iseo: an eco-sustainable success

According to the most recent principles of eco-sustainability, the beauty of Italian nature, villages and towns promote environmental conservation and tourism responsibility to educate all tourists to be respectful towards the ecosystem and the place they are visiting.

Environmental conservation supports art and local culture in their different expressions and representations. Lake Iseo is an acclaimed and successful example of eco-sustainable perspectives at national and international level, involving about 1,5 million people during the ’Floating Pier Event Land Art’ by creative artist Christo Javacheff.

Besides, monitoring the constant tourism affluence, Iseo town and the nearby lake villages could be preserved against tourism exploitation, pollution and mass-tourism, limiting access to open-spaces and green areas and better distributing visitors to designated zones.

The Lake Iseo hinterland includes the province of Bergamo and Brescia which are selected by tourists for cultural and landscape reasons (46%) nearly as much as popular Lake Garda (54%).

These two tourism destinations are promoted as ‘Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023’, an ideal solution for Easter holidays, a city break or a week-end escape.
